Takin Me Back - Kristofferson

May 12th, 2010

Lost In Chicago uses a filtered disco sound that we love so much here and keeps it set to a low level with nice deep tones and percussive beats. This is a track that could be seen as a mood setter or after hours classic.

55 Gallon Drum is the collaborative work from Kristofferson and his buddy Tom Hanson. With it's floor friendly beats and nice melodic sounds that echo a west Indian vibe it is sure to gain a lot of attention from house music fans alike.

The UK's south coast electro fidget boys Dirty Inc provide an imaginative twist to Lost In Chicago with a more energetic stamp on things that bump, wobble and attack the audio senses with pure dirty filth.

Salomeh & Homebaked - Forgotten Roots

Forgotten Roots - Salomeh & Homebaked

December 28th, 2009

Bakelite Beats has produced its second release to date and whilst being a relatively new label, it is going from strength to strength with solid tracks from new names such as Salomeh and Homebaked.

Having never collaborated in the past these two have undoubtedly produced a track that will get the feet moving away from the bar and straight onto the dance floor. Forgotten Roots has been written with a disco vibe in mind and can be heard clearly in it's jackin beats and funky bass line. IDigDeep other wise known as Marshall Hackett has provided a marathon of a track that continues to build whilst never letting the emotion drop. This is a sure winner for a festive vibe. Hypnotic Breeze is the third track on this release and is the solo work of Salomeh. It has it's influences from wonky tech house that could be more commonly associated with that San Francisco sound heard from the likes of Worthy, Justin Martin and Claude Von Stroke.

This is What I Do - Daniel Carro

September 9th, 2009

Daniel Carro has had a pivotal time in his career over the last few years which included playing gigs across the UK and Europe. Whilst playing as one half of Hijack, Daniel has had the honour of playing at such prestigious events including Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, Ministry Of Sounds Saturday Sessions and Always Fridays. Since parting Hijack, Daniel has embarked on his solo career with successful remixes for labels such as Destination ?, Audio Punk Records and Dandy Kids Records.

"My Way Of Life" has been making an impact on dance floors for some time with it's heads down,  jackin drums and a repeated familiar vocal. It is now about time to give it the release it deserves. On remix duties Jaksaw provides us with a choppier, electro tinged bomb that will create a wild fire effect across all dance floors.

"In The Morning" is a sure workout for all those who like house music which is steeped in funk and disco.
